What was done:
Project engineering and technical setup
We developed a complex technical plan and executed it. This included designing and setting up equipment for 3D mapping on statues, the ceiling, and walls, as well as providing an automated projection management system, developed by Magic Innovations. The total projection area was over 50 square meters, and the total brightness of the projectors reached 30,000 lumens.
Creation of a unique concept and show scenario
Our team developed a unique idea and scenario for the installation. Alongside real sea creatures, visitors can see a magical Mermaid, the Sea King, and other incredible beings, including prehistoric fish. We carefully designed the environment and created fantastic characters that complement the existing oceanarium exhibit.
3D characters in 6K resolution
Our team created 3D characters of prehistoric creatures in ultra-high 6K quality, allowing a highly realistic appearance. To achieve this, our concept artists researched prototype models to accurately bring these creatures to life.
Preparatory stage and shooting
We organized a casting of actors, created costumes, and even ordered them from a Hollywood film studio in America, enhancing the authenticity of the characters we brought to life. The shooting process was truly Hollywood-level, with a setup identical to that used in major film production. Additionally, actors underwent extensive preparation, including underwater training, as the filming took place underwater, posing considerable challenges. The actors had to hold their breath for long periods without any special equipment, an effort that truly paid off in the stunning results on screen.
For this project, we used the largest permanent holographic screen in Ukraine. This became the central element of the holographic show, enriching the visitor’s experience at the Oceanarium.
3D mapping and projection
Additionally, we developed a panoramic 3D mapping show with projections on statues and other space elements. This brought a fully immersive experience where visitors could interact with the virtual underwater world.
This project was a unique experience for us and yet another example of how innovative multimedia technologies can enhance and transform traditional exhibitions. Through close cooperation with the Lviv Oceanarium, we managed to create an installation that captivates and educates, turning a visit to the oceanarium into a real adventure for every visitor.
